Meditation Knowledge: “Rama Speaks – The Teachings of Rama – Dr. Frederick Lenz” By Lawrence Borok

This book makes much more accessible a very unusual teacher, Dr. Frederick Lenz (Rama). Rama said he was fully enlightened in the traditional Buddhist definition, and it is fascinating to see how he taught specific methods in order to reach that state. The author’s emphasis on meditation throughout the book mirrors Rama’s own, which makes this popular subject approachable in many new ways. The opening of the book presents an updated version of the classic ‘Six Worlds’ Buddhist model that sets a sweeping context and tone. This makes it easier for me to consider the vastness of what I may be composed of. It motivates me to go deeper into my inner nature.

I was especially drawn to feeling the subtle energies of the actual words of Rama that are presented in each chapter. Lawrence Borok’s comments act as a guide layered on top of a very large body of knowledge. The combined effect is like riding a powerful ocean wave.

So, this meticulously rendered book has turned into quite an adventure for me. I will add further thoughts to this review as I go deeper into the book, but for now, I wish to relay my enthusiasm about entering into this bright new world. It is a clearly structured conveyance of an unusually energetic knowledge by an author with direct experience of this remarkable teacher.

Now that I have finished reading this book I can feel more of how the author has humbly weaved in his comments. They highlight very deep understandings that are then substantiated and clarified by Rama’s dialog following it. Thus, I am more drawn to immersing myself in the understandings without feeling threatened in any way. The simplicity and power of this pattern is prevalent throughout the book so that I walk away with a visceral feel for how perception expands via meditation and mindfulness practice. I cannot say enough about the understated way ancient knowledge (in a modern context) is presented in this book and the ever present opportunity to immerse ourselves in its endless wonder.

Virtual Meditation: Ideas On Addressing Our ‘Samskaras’

Please join Jeff for a FREE Virtual Meditation and Discussion about “Ideas On Addressing Our ‘Samskaras'” on Tuesday evening, February 23rd, 2021 at 7:00 PM PDT/10:00 PM EDT.

I feel we can ultimately thank our detractors and adversaries, if you happen to have some, for highly motivating us to stay very focused on going deeper into our meditations, instead of losing our energy by being upset or angry.  It is in deeper meditation where we can access much more Kundalini energy and corresponding ‘insights’ that shed light on our inner ‘patterns’ that appear to be a large part of our conditioning and integral to our actions.  Ultimately, our adversaries may be doing us a big favor, because to be non-attached (in a positive sense) from strongly embedded ‘patterns’ is not necessarily easy to do and sometimes does call for extraordinary measures.

Mainly, this class will be a chance for us to get together and express ourselves in the discussion session and to have fun and powerful meditations as well as to feel as much ‘stillness’ as possible.  Going beyond our thoughts and descriptions, even for a few moments, is one of the central themes of these classes, as ‘openings’ to inner reality become progressively more perceptible.

Also, there will be two meditation sessions with music played by Zazen.  The class will be participatory and experiential and geared toward supporting participants in feeling a more richly textured dimensionality.

Virtual Meditation: Leveraging ‘Power Spots’

Please join Jeff for a FREE Virtual Meditation and Discussion on “Leveraging ‘Power Spots'” on Tuesday evening, December 22nd, 2020 at 7:00 PM PDT/10:00 PM EDT.

I always look forward to spending time at a ‘power spot,’ especially the ones accessed in the “Canyons of Light” music by Zazen.  Others (although I haven’t personally been there yet), like Uluru in the Northern Territory of Australia and Arunachala Hill in Tiruvannamalai, India also appear to be quite appealing as well as many other major and local power spots throughout the world.

We will also discuss some ideas on how to notice major and local power spots each with their own unique and distinctive qualities and energies, as well as how to leverage the power, luminosity and knowledge emanating from these ‘portals’ to wondrous higher dimensions. In addition, we will ‘hook’ into the power of the Winter Solstice to enhance the depth of our experience this evening.

Virtual Meditation: Transforming Our Dimensional ‘Shape’

Please join Jeff for a FREE Virtual Meditation and Discussion on “Transforming Our Dimensional ‘Shape'” on Tuesday evening, August 18th, 2020 at 7:00 PM PDT/10:00 PM EDT.

Apparently, one way to describe ourselves is as multi-dimensional beings defined in some manner by our access to various ‘perceptual nodal points’ [Note: ‘perceptual nodal points’ is a concept introduced in “Snowboarding to Nirvana” by Rama (Dr. Frederick Lenz)].

I thought it would be fun and instructive to experience what is shown to us all about safely ‘stretching our shape’ a bit and thus changing our perception to an extent, at least for the hour period of the class. As we are drawn deeper into inner reality and access the imbedded knowledge there, we can become progressively more fluid and integrated, which opens up many possibilities for further fun adventures.  It may be simply a matter of passion and choice on how we act when more positive power and clarity flows through us.

Of course, we will continue to go deeper into the inner layers of reality via progressively feeling more ‘stillness.’  I feel, in the stillness, there is vast potentiality and thus it is extremely ‘active and real.’  We sort of ‘melt away’ a bit and that feels quite buoyant and fresh in a protected way.
